Democrat field has tightened between Biden and Sanders
A week after Super Tuesday narrowed the field of Democrat Party contenders for the presidential nomination, six more states will be vying for delegates on Tuesday.
The biggest prize among them is Michigan, with 125 delegates. Both former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders have been pushing hard to win these votes. It could take some time to tabulate results in Michigan, the secretary of state said.
Idaho and North Dakota could see high turnouts as could Mississippi, where many absentee ballots had been received. Missouri has an open ballot, so voters can vote for any party’s candidate.
There is also expected to be high polling in Washington state, the last primary to close on Tuesday. But, once again, because of the many mail-in ballots, full results may not become immediately known.
